NEONATAL UNIT

The neonatal unit, including the intensive care ward, is the largest department of the maternity hospital. We ensure a 24/7 follow-up, medical car and neonatal care.

We have the equipment for emergency care, monitoring and treatment of newborn infants. We screen babies for early and minor forms of congenital diseases caused by infections, genetic disorders and congenital malformations.

We carry out clinical tests, blood chemistry, bacterial tests; ultrasound examinations of the brain, internal organs, heart, hip joints (for indications); ECG and hearing screening. A check-up includes consultations by medical specialists (neurologist, ophthalmologist, ENT specialist) and members of the Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology. We have implemented the rooming-in policies. Newborns stay in wards with their mums almost immediately after birth. Newborns get vaccines in according with the procedure and within the period specified by the protocols of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.
