NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

The unit was opened in 2008. The capacity of the unit is 18 beds.

The unit was built according to cleanroom technology. That is why the therapeutic blocks have high clean environment.

The unit has the state-of-the art equipment: Babylog 800 plus neonatal ventilators, Caleo and Atom incubators, Infinity monitors (with an option of invasive measurement of arterial pressure, monitoring of CO2 concentration), network of Utas monitors allowing to continuously control patients’ condition, high-precision syringe dosing device, Malysh light therapy lamps.

We apply the modern technologies and methods of nursing of newborns, including premature babies with a very low birth weight and extremely low birth weight, i.e. early exogenous surfactant therapy in the labour room; therapy of the respiratory distress syndrome with the help of all types of respiratory support (early use of nasal CPAP, flow-triggered ventilation, high-frequency oscillatory ventilation); respiratory monitoring; capnography (to monitor the effectiveness of ventilation); insertion of arterial catheters to invasively measure blood pressure and adjust hemodynamics; insertion of microcatheters; infusion therapy with the help of a single infusion line and antibacterial filters to reduce the risk of infections; balanced parenteral nutrition; protective regimen limiting the exposure to the sun and noise with the help of humidicrib covers; developmental care.

Our surgeons perform the surgery for the functional closure of the arterial duct in extremely premature infants.
